Valve is celebrating Half-Life 2’s 20th anniversary with updates including bug fixes, restored content, improved graphics, and Steam Workshop support. Episodes One and Two are now bundled, and it’s all free on Steam until November 18. There’s also a feature length documentary exploring its iconic development. Legendary.

An iOS classic - I spent hours on this back in the day. It’s simple but addictive. You likely have this to thank/blame for infinite runner games.

A new vision for the franchise, retaining all the self-aware clichés and insufferable characterisation. Gameplay wise, silly & super fun. Bonkers atmosphere and world. Bosses are sometimes a letdown.

Cool story with enthralling atmosphere, and does a few detective-game things really well. Action sequences can sometimes bae a bit clunky, and sometimes objectives aren’t clear. Still, it’s a classic.

An influential masterclass in the application of atmosphere and subtlety. Beautiful, powerful, surprising and mesmerising - Journey is a must play.

Giant Sparrow’s PS3 game finally comes to PC! An immediately captivating start is followed by clever explorations of mechanics that make for a delightful game which doesnt outstay its welcome. Get it!

Potentially the best Fallout game. Potentially one of the best RPGs. Just play it.

The juggernaut that is GTA V is of course grander in ambition and scale, but I still think this is a better game. Cars handle a little strange at times, but everything else here is a masterclass.

Improves upon almost everything of its predecessor. All the tropes are here, but they still feel interesting at this point. Bursting with ambition and mostly delivers.

Fun game. Gorgeous setting and a pretty good story. Has some pacing issues, but one of if not the best AC games. Just wish it was a little harder.
