Horse-girl racing idol sim sounds like a joke, but Umamusume’s training loop is surprisingly sharp, races are tense, and the production value combined with attention to detail in recreating aspects of real world Japanese racehorses is weirdly elite. Gacha is generous upfront, but obviously brutal long-term. You’ll probably resent how much fun it is. A global phenomenon for a reason: addictive, unskippable, potentially shameful.

A simple premise executed virtually to perfection. As its description says, more of a toy than a ‘full game’, but it’s short, relaxing and fun. No unlockables, no story, just ramps.

Max Payne DOOM Tony Hawk. Super fun; cool little setting and story, nice presentation, and makes you feel better than you probably are. Feels a bit weird at first but doesn’t take long to get used to.

I am not good at driving games but I was dying to play this. Indeed I was very bad at it, but very much enjoyed the masterfully crafted artstyle and way it lovingly communicates the… art of rally.

As simple as they come, but strangely hypnotic and addictive. Love it. Sadly I am still fat IRL.

Absurd, funny and clever. You’ll immediately know if you’re gonna like this game. I found it a great exploration of a single, seemingly simple idea.

Slick, responsive and addictive - an absolute must-have for VR. Check out BeastSaber for mods, namely custom songs.

Very clunky UI and a bit slapped together overall, but still very fun, helped hugely by having multiplayer. As you’d expect, takes a bit of getting used to, but worth a go.

Doesn’t take itself seriously, silly as hell and wicked fun. I probably logged hundreds of hours heating up, entering cheats and BOOMSHAKALAKA’ing in this classic.

It’s really stupid… and really fun.
