A charming and engaging swan song from Runic games. Beautiful stylised art direction paint engaging environments and interesting puzzles.

As far as Steam releases go, Dead Cells is GOTY 2018. Absolutely the most buttery smooth controls amongst its ilk, amazing music, challenging mechanics and immense innate replayability.

A timeless masterpiece gets a modern, tasteful cosmetic uplift. Shadow of the Colossus is understated, beautiful, charming and inspired. It’s an adventure you’ll never forget - must play.

Incredibly well designed and delivers on everything it sets out to do: emotional story, a focus on exploration and discovery, and basic combat.

A fantastic game which I played the hell out of growing up. This PC version is all but completely ruined though, so it’s hard to recommend. Still love that tone though.

Another challenging modern classic platformer from Ed McMillen - this guy knows what he’s doing. The End is Nigh is less accessible than Super Meat Boy, but if you’re up for a challenge, give it a go.

Furry hack-and-slash Metroidvania with some RPG elements. But the real story here is that aside from VA, soundtrack, and parts of the story, Dust was designed and programmed entirely by one person.

Best in class 2D metroidvania with crisp controls and challenging but fair combat. Unforgettable music, characters and world - Hollow Knight is one of the most well executed games ever made.
