Genre: Music
ODDADA is a relaxing, sandbox-style music game where you create songs using toy instruments in a whimsical, minimalist world. The experience is massively tactile, encouraging childlike play, with randomised ‘levels’ and no pressure of time limits. Obviously not for everyone, but very neat.
It’s a rhythm-based shooter which means you’ll have to be kinda-into the music, and be willing to concentrate that hard. Achieves what it sets out to, and from the trailer you’ll know if it’s for you.
A clever concept well executed. Not a huge fan of the music and characters, but if you’re into rhythm games generally, this is a smart and engaging addition to the genre.
Really well put together Twitchbait rhythm game which is challenging and super fun for a short period, but gets old pretty quickly. Would benefit a lot from custom tracks.
A mesmerising, hyperactive, colourful and emotionally rich rhythm game - super cool. Great design overall and fantastic music to carry it all the way to the end. Artistic, honest and addictive.
Slick, responsive and addictive - an absolute must-have for VR. Check out BeastSaber for mods, namely custom songs.
A fitting and challenging musically violent rhythm game with gorgeous visual styling from one half of band Lightning Bolt & friends.
A simple but mostly well executed puzzle game with an interesting story, a good level of variety and great soundtrack.
Retro inspired rhythm game with lots of cute homages to other indies, challenging levels and a commitment to simplicity that today highlights what went wrong with the sequels.
Short, slow and memorable; Gone Home is somewhat overhyped, but important and well designed regardless. Best to go in absolutely blind.
