Short but utterly brilliant. Go in blind, but be prepared for a very strange, funny and unique experience.

My favourite from the Frictional Games team. SOMA isn’t traditionally horrifying, but it’s full of dread and scary atmosphere. Brilliant and thought-provoking existential story.

A beautiful, puzzling and incredibly well crafted work of art. This game does not hold your hand and does not give you an explicit pat on the back. Discovery, learning and rumination are your rewards.

An intriguing and dynamic game in the vein of X-COM which is worth the price of entry if at times a little frustrating.

Interesting, philosophically centred puzzle game with a relatively unique setting and some beautiful vistas. Puzzles can get very challenging - pleasantly so.

Rockstar have absolutely mastered this format of game, and GTA5 is the jewel in their crown. It’s extremely well designed and the singleplayer is good, albeit suffering from restrictive ways to play.

A modern and engaging story driven puzzler adventure with a core mechanic thoroughly explored. Fun, engaging and emotionally sophisticated (for the most part… at times it’s pretty cheesy). Play it.

More of the same from the Far Cry formula; which is still strong and fun - assuming there’s an engaging world & plot, as there is here. Not quite as strong as #3, but worth playing.

A simple but mostly well executed puzzle game with an interesting story, a good level of variety and great soundtrack.
