Genre: Adventure

Great example of how to faithfully refine a predecessor. Lots of charm, tonnes to do and a sensational level of variation and dynamics. Movement still feels a bit rigid to my taste, but that’s OK.

Having started with low expectations, this was surprisingly good. Exploding with ideas, tonnes of charm and mostly feels great. The closest PlayStation has to a great 3d Mario.

A roguelike which plays like a tabletop cardgame in which your inventory management itself defines how combat plays out. An interesting concept allowing for dynamic builds. Could do with some UX love.

A bit of Zelda, a bit of Pikmin and a teeny tiny bit of Souls. Gorgeous to look at and impressively polished for a first title. Not particularly challenging, but cute, fun and worth a look.

A refinement of its great predecessor, Nioh 2 does everything you’d hope for from a sequel. The core mechanics remain tight & additions fit in seamlessly without ruining any balance. Outstanding game.

[Early Access] While feeling a bit like just Slime Rancher 1.5, it seems to improve on everything from the original, with extra delightful polish. Will depend on development, but fun so far.

Colourful, charming and frantic with a unique personality, Slime Rancher walks a line between relaxing and repetitive. If you’re into cute farming, adventuring and a bit of management, it’s for you.

A surprisingly compelling soulslike despite quite a bit of jank. World is cool & very pretty. Combat is easy but enjoyable. Disappointing amount of invisible walls, and overall a bit clunky, but fun.

Can’t blame them, but someone clearly loves Bloodborne. Thymesia is cool and like a lot of new soulslikes, has a bunch of neat ideas, but somehow feels like less than the sum of its parts. Decent.

As mechanically experimental as it is visually. You’re a pizza delivery guy tryina infiltrate a nightclub. To do so, you’ll roll dice - lots of dice. Seemingly inspired by Disco Elysium in a lot of ways, which can only be a good thing. Really cool.
