Company: Ubisoft Québec

I’ll say it: it’s not bad. Shadows won’t win any gamedesign awards, but it’s fun. Looks gorgeous and actually tries a couple of bold things (for Ubisoft standards), but gets lost in its own systems and identity at times. Feels like a noble swing at evolving the series, but ends up more empty than inspired - it’s impossible to ignore how far behind this type of design is. Still, there’s fun to be had, beautiful visuals to behold, and I respect the effort.

Feels like it could probably have been DLC. Has all the Ubisoft tropes and the typical mix of dopamine and tedium.

Great setting & at times fun gameplay, as well as of course… more of the same. Some promising characters, but they prove hard to get attached to. Lots of ideas in here, but none fully committed to.

Fun for a while but generally more of the same. Repetitive combat has improved but is still reliant on counterplay of incredibly obvious telegraphs. Overworld plot is so arbitrary IDK why they bother.
