Borderlands 4 is a blast when you lock into the core loop - snappy gunplay, meaningful loot, big playgrounds. But the bombastic, quippy aesthetic and tone now read like a bit of a relic. You almost have to meet it halfway - tune out the dated swagger, focus on the systems - then you can find the fun. In any case, if you’re looking for a shooter to turn your brain off in, there’s a lot to like.
Has come a pretty long way since its predecessor was “just an attempt at a soulslike with guns”. Fantastic visual and sound design, great characterisation and world design. Way more fun with friends.
Early Access single or multiplayer third-person shooter roguelike. Done extremely well so far, even more fun with friends. Great music. Feel like the maps need to come alive a bit more.
Early access survival game, but it’s… actually really good? Smooth movement, gorgeous visuals and lots of depth (no pun intended). Can be a bit overwhelming at first, but stick with it.
