Company: FromSoftware

First of all: it’s good. I’m always for happy FromSoft to try stuff, and this was a really interesting idea. If you’re relying on two multiplayer randoms, you may be in for a bad time - it can be a bit of a dice roll, but solo is absolutely doable. It’s hard to play this and not have thoughts of a FromSoft live-service game, and so long as it wouldn’t distract from their usual approach… I’d be kinda down for it! This is multiplayer Elden Ring with drips and drabs of content and mechanics from all over the From archive - it might not be what you want from them, but it’s really fun.

It’s real! A24 and Alex Garland are making a live-action Elden Ring film with Bandai Namco. Details are scarce, but the world is obviously ripe for exploration, and Garland rules. Hopefully George R. R. Martin and Vaati are consulting!

Please don’t. Rumours started last week about an Elden Ring TV show or film adaptation, and George R. R. Martin has added fuel to the fire in his ‘not a blog’.

Oh, and about those rumors you may have heard about a feature film or television series based on ELDEN RING… I have nothing to say. Not a word, nope, not a thing, I know nothing, you never heard a peep from me, mum mum mum.   What rumor?

As much as I’d love to see this done well, I think it’s more likely it won’t be… if it even can.

Finally! The Elden Ring DLC trailer is here. H U M A N I T Y R E S T O R E D

According to a new report, FROMSOFT is now the sole owner of the Elden Ring IP, no longer sharing rights with Bandai Namco. This change was seemingly facilitated via investments from Sony and Tencent.

Apparently Tencent is developing a mobile adaptation of Elden Ring - with a desire for gacha elements - according to sources. The company acquired licensing rights in 2022 and has initiated a small team to prototype the game, although progress has been slow. This sounds… kinda disgusting, and currently hard to believe.

Elden Ring’s upcoming expansion, Shadow of the Erdtree, is “progressing well”, according to producer Yasuhiro Kitao. In a new interview, he hinted at ‘new battles and characters’, drawing comparisons to Bloodborne’s huge and beloved DLC. Despite no confirmed release date, FROMSOFT are assuring smooth development.

An interview with Bandai Namco EU CEO Arnaud Muller might hint that the upcoming Elden Ring DLC, Shadow of the Erdtree, is set “to release soon”. No release date has been provided - ‘soon’ could mean anything - and it might just be presumptuous phrasing by the author, but… let’s gooo!

FROM reinvigorate mecha gaming with their masterfully honed pedigree, elevating the genre to new supreme heights. The world is enthralling, the garage deep and addictive, and the combat tight and impactful. What can one say - they’ve done it again.

Just a few hours out from release, FROM and Bandai pull the hypetrain into the station with the Armored Core VI overview trailer. Let’s gooooo!
