It’s hard to overstate DOOM’s significance and influence. Revolutionary.

As a huge fan of the first Quake, at the time I never quite knew what to make of this. The setting & theme shift was bold but respectable. Sadly this release doesnt have music, which IMO was integral.

I struggle to think of a franchise I have less interest in than COD, but MW2s DMZ mode is surprisingly fun. A more accessible Tarkov, simplifying the systems all the way down, potentially too far.

Gorgeous and lovingly crafted. Some of the best-in-class gunplay. Tonnes of content now, even a little overwhelming. Needs work on the new/returning player experience, but fun if you can push through.

The latest game by FROM is just as challenging as its predecessors, while taking things in a different direction: combat is more demanding, the world is more vertical & platformy. Extremely good.

The historic grandfather of 3D shooters, paving the way for a genre that would come to dominate the industry. I remember playing this with my brother, and he’d always make it harder by refusing to shoot the dogs.

A fantastic game which I played the hell out of growing up. This PC version is all but completely ruined though, so it’s hard to recommend. Still love that tone though.
