About tldr.games
In 2014 I started rating and writing about games using the Steam Curator platform, which only allows ‘reviews’ with a very short character limit. It also doesn’t let you score games, only allowing three ratings. I’ve never liked the idea of numerically scoring games and find most lengthy reviews often reveal too much, so both of these restrictions aligned to my preferred approach. Not being able to log games that aren’t on Steam was a problem, though.
So at some point, and some several-hundred games logged, I wanted to make more of a thing of it all. Fast forward, tldr.games launched in 2023. Thanks for visiting.
About tldr ratings:
Games which I didn’t particularly enjoy, or were let down in some other way.
Games which I neither liked nor disliked.
You get the idea.
Rating games - no matter the scale or system - is hard. There’s a level of guilt associated with logging a game “Disliked”, because finishing and releasing any videogame is an accomplishment to be proud of. In any case, these ratings are just one person’s opinion, and what do I know?

Michael “lmk” Winkler is a visual designer, videographer and obviously videogame enthusiast. This is him, now writing in third-person.
