ARC Raiders, the upcoming third-person PvPvE extraction shooter developed by Embark Studios, has a release date - 2025. It’s something I guess. A public Tech Test will run from October 24 to 27. Love the visual design in this game, hope it’s fun.

Indiana Jones and the Great Circle has a release date: 9 December 2024, for PC, Xbox… and with a PS5 release set for Q2 2025. This marks a shift from Xbox exclusivity, aligning with the company’s broader strategy to bring first-party games to other platforms. Oof.

REANIMAL from Tarsier Studios (Little Nightmares), follows two siblings in an expectedly nightmarish world, this time with co-op play. Looks cool. No release date yet.

Gearbox have announced Borderlands 4, surely hoping to recover from the recent movie flop. Slated for a 2025 release, the teaser doesn’t reveal much, and after Borderlands 3, most - including myself - are cautious to be too optimistic.

A quirky romp through a surreal Yorkshire town, Thank Goodness You’re Here! is a funny and absurd little gem. Silly, authentic British humour, great voice acting and super clean art style carry the otherwise mostly-on-rails puzzling - which never feels tiresome. The characters are charmingly bizarre, the world is lovingly crafted, and there’s even a couple of nods to their previous game The Good Time Garden. Ripper game… or should I say, it’s reyt good!

Sony’s Bungie cuts staff from 1,300 to 850: 220 laid off, 155 moved to Sony, ~40 to a new studio. CEO Pete Parsons says they “were overly ambitious” and ran into financial trouble. Let’s not forget, two years ago:

Though Bungie employees said leadership has assured them there will be “absolutely no layoffs” and nothing “major” in terms of restructuring once the Sony deal closes

Very sad. Sidenote: Reports suggest Parsons spent $2.4m on 25 cars in the past two years…

Humble Games has laid off all 36 of its staff. Despite confirming a “restructure” the company didn’t actually specify job losses, but confirmed the charity storefront Humble Bundle will remain unaffected. The indie publisher has assured support for ongoing and upcoming projects. They’ve put out some really great games, so this sucks…

Seemingly simple, but absolutely delightful and just as dense as it needs to be. Lead a group of adorable creatures through beautiful landscapes amongst its charming visuals and super chill soundtrack. The controls are simple, and the gameplay is engaging, making it perfect for a lazy - dare I say cosy - Sunday.

Ohhh, so Outersloth wanna publish weird shit! I’m here for it. Despite its absurd, stupid surface, a thought-provoking and unsettling game marked by ambiguity and authenticity: the character is right in front of us, but distant and twisted. In a world of games vying for our attention, here’s a unique, memorable and ridiculous experience. *click*

It’s another survival horror MMO set in a post-apocalyptic world infested with monstrous creatures! Once Human has something, though - the world is wonderfully creative and its crafting and base-building are intuitive and satisfying. Great visuals and an atmospheric setting, but it feels typically grindy and repetitive over time. Definitely worth checking out for fans of the genre.
